About
The Watauga Long Term Recovery Group is searching for a full time director. The initial contract will be for approximately 16 months or the length of the initial grant. If funding is able to continue and work is necessary, then the contract can be extended.
The WLTRG exists to link to and support recovery services to individuals, families, businesses and groups affected by Hurricane Helene in Watauga County and nearby communities. Services will be provided regardless of race, creed, color, gender, disability or religious preference. The goal of the WLTRG is to see all of our fellow residents fully recover from the disaster.
The director of the WLTRG will need to be able to do the following:
As our Executive Director, you'll be at the heart of our operations, guiding our efforts in key areas:

Survivor-Centric Leadership: Champion a culture that prioritizes the needs and well-being of disaster survivors in every decision and action.

Strategic Growth & Partnerships: Collaborate directly with the Executive Committee to expand our reach, advocacy, and influence by forging new partnerships and exploring innovative opportunities.

Operational Excellence: Oversee all organizational operations, including financial review and approval, grant writing and reporting, and the development and implementation of effective policies and procedures.

Community Engagement: Serve as the public face of the LTRG, representing the organization at events, with media, and across governmental and partner agencies.

Team & Program Management: Provide direct oversight and management of all LTRG employees and programs, ensuring their effectiveness, efficiency, and equitability.

Donor Relations: Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with donors to secure vital resources for our initiatives.

Future Preparedness: Identify and implement "blue sky" preparedness protocols to enhance our community's ability to respond to future disasters.

Collaborative Coordination: Work closely with the Regional Director and actively participate in continuing education, including the VOAD National Conference.
What You'll Bring:

Proven Leadership: Experience in leading and managing an organization, with a strong understanding of strategic planning and operational oversight.

Additional Details:

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 months.

Salary: approx. $65,000 annually
