Watauga Economic Development Commission to Meet in Blowing Rock in September

The Watauga County Economic Development Commission will hold its next meeting Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 1pm-2:30pm at the American Legion Building, located at 333 Wallingford Street in Blowing Rock. The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting will begin with a welcome and review of Watauga County’s economic development priorities from Blowing Rock Town Council Member and Watauga EDC chair Pete Gherini.

As part of the commission’s agenda, the group will hear a presentation from Nathan Nipper, Chief Operating Officer of UNC Health Appalachian. He will address the recent branding change from Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, as well as provide insight on current and future projects.
