The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country is seeking leadership partners for a growing, impactful nonprofit cultural cornerstone in Boone, NC.

We’re expanding our team with leader(s) who understand that small nonprofit staff often wear a variety of hats. These roles require excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to utilize error-free grammar consistently. Successful candidates must have the ability to become institutional experts and master organizational responsibilities in at least 2 of the following areas:
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the theatre’s box office, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient ticket sales
- Maintains a welcoming, professional experience for guests
- Supervision of event staff and volunteers
- Manages ticket inventory, sales reporting and troubleshoots ticketing issues
- Coordinates closely with marketing and event staff to support successful performances
- Ensures accurate financial reconciliation of ticket and concessions revenue
- Venue specialist of in house ticketing systems and website event pages
- Manages all aspects of contracting for performances and facility rentals
- Drafts and administers artist agreements, rental contracts, and serves as the primary point of contact for individuals or organizations interested in renting venue spaces
- Coordinates venue scheduling and event logistics with internal teams
- Maintains clear communication with artists, agents, and renters to support successful events
- Experience with financial tracking, reporting, budgeting and bookkeeping is a plus.

- Responsible for planning and executing fundraising strategies that support the mission and financial sustainability of the Appalachian Theatre
- Manages donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition, including individual donors, sponsors, and foundations
- Coordinates fundraising campaigns, grant support, donor communications, and special donor events
- Maintains accurate donor records and builds long-term relationships that strengthen community investment in the organization
- Venue specialist of in house donor management system(s)
- Oversee and coordinate a range of internal and private rental receptions and events
- Serve as the liaison for rental clients, guiding them through logistics, addressing on-site needs to create a seamless rental experience.
- Oversee on-site event operations, troubleshooting in real time and ensuring all technical, hospitality, and audience-facing elements run smoothly.

- Leads the theatre’s marketing efforts to promote performances, events, films and free programming
- Develops and executes marketing campaigns across digital and print platforms
- Creates promotional graphics and materials
- Manages the organization’s social media presence, and helps maintain a consistent brand identity.
- Responsibilities include content creation, audience engagement, advertising coordination, and tracking marketing performance to grow visibility and attendance.

Roles available for part-time, full-time, and evolving.
We value transparency with regard to compensation, particularly in the arts. Salary details and full job descriptions will be provided during initial interviews and are dependent upon skillset, experience, and role. As a point of reference, hourly pay ranges from $16/hr to $24/hr.
