High Gravity Adventures (highgravityadventures.com) is an Aerial Park and Zip Line Tour in Blowing Rock, NC offering world-class adventure experiences to its guests, ages 4 and up. The facility features an impressive multi-level aerial park with over 75 challenge elements including courses for both adults and children, a 5-line zip tour with lengths up to 1000 feet culminating in a 70-foot free-fall experience, and a three-person Giant Swing! Additionally, High Gravity Adventures also offers facilitated educational and team development programming at a nearby private facility under the name Blue Ridge Learning Centers (brlc.org).

About the Position:
The General Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership to all aspects of the day-to-day operations of High Gravity Adventures (HGA) and Blue Ridge Learning Centers (BRLC). This position will have the assistance of a team of Assistant Managers, Shift Supervisors, and other enterprise-level resources in fulfilling their responsibilities. They will coordinate with the VP of Operations (managing partner) and other partners to ensure the business is functioning at a high level. The ideal candidate will have a strong management background, ideally at other aerial adventure facilities, and will possess the ability to perform at a high level without the need for significant supervision and direction.
Areas of Responsibility (include, but not limited to):
- General Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective systems and processes
- Supervise and direct other reporting leaders
- Facilitate effective communication across a large staff team as well as other internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure that facilities are maintained in excellent condition
- Develop an annual operating calendar and attendance projections for HGA in coordination with VP of Operations
- Oversee the operations of BRLC and ensure effective program delivery
- Course Operations
- Work in conjunction with the Assistant Manager of Operations to ensure that operations staff are properly trained and performing in accordance with industry standards
- Ensure that the courses and equipment are properly inspected and maintained
- Effectively manage risks associated with aerial adventure facilities
- Customer Service
- Work in conjunction with the Assistant Manager of Customer Service to ensure that customer service staff are properly trained and capable of providing exceptional guest experiences
- Ensure that all customer questions, concerns, and reviews are responded to effectively and in a timely manner
- Human Resources
- Recruit, hire, develop, and maintain a team of up to 50 staff
- Create and maintain a positive and professional staff culture
- Foster the ideals of quality, work ethic, and fun
- Manage discipline and termination of staff when required
- Marketing and Sales
- Work with enterprise-level marketing team to develop and deliver new products, campaigns, and events that increase revenue
- Analyze, understand, and act on marketing and sales metrics to ensure business growth
- Represent HGA at community events as necessary
- Finance
- Work with enterprise-level finance team to create an annual budget
- Monitor and manage all expenses of the business within budget
- Analyze, understand, and act on financial metrics to ensure profitability.
- Coordinate with the enterprise finance team to ensure timely execution of payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reporting functions
Required Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years experience managing teams and creating a workplace culture
- Ability to work at height
- A passion for working in outdoor environments
- Ability to think strategically and perform independently of direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
- Ability to find solutions to problems vs barriers
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Experience managing aerial adventure facilities
- Background providing experiential programming
- Experience in budget development
- Previous employment in a customer service position
- Experience in marketing & sales
