Avery Community Health Coordinator

The Avery Community Health Coordinator Position is responsible for the administrative components of the Center for Disease Control’s  Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Grant, and other Avery County specific community health grants within Western Youth Network. This position will provide leadership to the Avery Youth Coalition and support for other community health/substance use prevention efforts & initiatives. This role is designed to work in direct conjunction with Western Youth Network’s Avery Youth Programming Coordinator Position(s).

Avery Afterschool/Summer Camp Lead Programmer

After school/Summer Camp Lead Programmer is responsible for facilitation, supervision, and relationship building for daily 6-8th grade after school programs. In addition, Lead Programmers will be responsible for the supervision of After School/Summer Camp site staff and overall direction of the after school and summer programs.  The Lead Programmer is responsible for planning (or delegation of the planning) and facilitating trips outside of the daily after school program – spring break, summer program, snow day program ect.  Lead Programmers are responsible for facilitating and guiding the participation of tutors, volunteers, interns, and site staff.  The Lead Programmer is responsible for implementing designated youth-based initiatives outlined within the CDC’s Drug Free Community Grant and various other funding sources.   This role is designed to collaborate with Western Youth Network’s Avery Community Health Coordinator Position.

Avery Afterschool/Summer Camp Programmer

The After School/Summer Camp Programmer is responsible for overseeing students who are enrolled in WYN’s afterschool program.  The person in this position will supervise and build relationships with school age students, assist with academics, supervise volunteers, may facilitate prevention curriculum and maintain a structured and safe environment for the students.
