Public Works Crew Leader
The Town of Boone Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Works Crew Leader in the Street Division. This employee performs intermediate skilled work leading and participating in the work of a maintenance and repair crew; does related work as required. Limited supervision is exercised over a crew of semiskilled personnel.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and extensive experience in semiskilled maintenance or construction work including some supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of repair and maintenance practices; thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions of the work; ability to lead and supervise the work of others; ability to prepare simple reports; dependability; skill in the operation of construction and maintenance equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
Special Requirements:
Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.
Salary:
$42,022 Employee will serve a six-month probation.
