Professional Bio

Carrie Henderson serves as Vice President of Events and Chief of Staff for the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, a dual role that reflects her growing leadership within the organization. In addition to overseeing the Chamber’s full portfolio of events, she supports organizational operations through project management and strategic assistance to the executive office.

Since joining the Chamber in 2022, Henderson has played a key role in coordinating grant tracking and distribution through the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, facilitating high-level meetings with local and state officials, and supporting the organization’s response efforts following Hurricane Helene. She is known for bringing thoughtfulness, calmness, and precision to complex initiatives, from creative event execution to cross-functional organizational work.

A native of Lenoir, North Carolina, Henderson brings extensive experience in event and conference management from her time at Appalachian State University, where she managed large-scale conferences, special events, and academic and athletic programs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Nonprofit Management from Appalachian State University and previously spent four years with Appalachian Mountain Brewery, supporting fundraising efforts for local nonprofit organizations.

Henderson resides in Boone with her husband, Brent, and their dog, Sable.
