This year, we’re inviting you to join us for a Shop Small, Give Big Weekend, a five-day celebration that highlights gratitude, local shopping, and community generosity from Thanksgiving through Giving Tuesday.

Whether you’re discovering new favorites on our Holiday Shop Local List, supporting small businesses in person or online, or contributing to the Boone Area Chamber Foundation, every action you take helps strengthen the place we call home.

Thursday, November 27: Thanksgiving Day

Holiday traditions and gratitude in the High Country.

As you gather around the table with family and friends, we invite you to pause and reflect on what you’re grateful for and the community that surrounds you.

Thanksgiving weekend marks the start of choose-and-cut Christmas Tree season, a beloved High Country tradition. Discover the farms offering fresh-cut trees, festive experiences, and family fun here.

For those looking to enjoy a holiday meal without the cooking, several restaurants are open and serving Thanksgiving specials, such as, The Beacon, Dan'l Boone Inn, Over Yonder, Gamekeeper, and more!

Saturday, November 29: Small Business Saturday

Supporting our neighbors and keeping each dollar in our community.

Small Business Saturday shines a spotlight on the entrepreneurs and makers who bring creativity and character to the High Country. This year, we’re encouraging the community to support small businesses in as many ways as possible, because not every act of support happens at the checkout counter.

Here are some free, meaningful ways to show support:

• Leave a review: A thoughtful review boosts visibility and helps small businesses reach new customers.
• Engage on social media: Like, share, and comment to help local businesses expand their digital reach and connect with more people.
• Attend a holiday event or workshop: Enjoy festive experiences while supporting the entrepreneurs and creators who bring our community to life.
• Recommend your favorite businesses: A simple word-of-mouth recommendation can make a big difference for local owners.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity, and here in Boone, it’s an opportunity to support the work of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The Foundation is the giving arm of the Chamber, created to support projects and initiatives that help Boone and surrounding areas thrive. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, the Foundation helps gather and distribute funding and resources that fuel long-term growth in our region.
