Join us on Wednesday, May 31 to welcome Community Resource Sergeant, Geoff Hayes, and returning Downtown Development Coordinator, Lane Moody, to our Downtown Boone Community! This welcome reception will be held at the Jones House from 3:00 - 5:00pm. Sergeant Geoff Hayes is the Community Resource Sergeant for the Town of Boone Police Department. He has been a sworn law enforcement officer since 1998, starting with the Town of Boone in 2002, and has served in many capacities in the Police Department including working patrol and being part of the Special Response Team. He was recently promoted from Administrative Sergeant to Community Resource Sergeant and now serves the downtown community. He is a native of Watauga County and is enjoying his new role in Downtown Boone.

Lane Moody is the Downtown Development Coordinator for the Town of Boone. She began working for the Town of Boone in 2009 as a program coordinator, and was promoted to Downtown Development Coordinator in 2018. Leaving briefly to work in the Office of General Counsel at Appalachian State, Lane has recently returned to the Town of Boone staff as the Downtown Development Coordinator. Lane is grateful for the relationships and skills she developed while at Appalachian State, and is excited to return to the Town of Boone position with renewed energy!
