Schaefer Family Patient Care Tower Ribbon Cutting

You are invited to a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, August 29 from 5:00 - 6:00pm to celebrate Watauga Medical Center's new Schaefer Family Patient Care Tower!

Brief remarks from Chuck Mantooth, CEO & Rob Hudspeth, President, ARHS Foundation will begin at 5:30pm followed by a ribbon cutting with the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. Light refreshments will be provided.

Having opened in March of 2023, the Watauga Medical Center team is thrilled to be caring for patients in the new Schaefer Family Patient Care Tower located on Watauga Medical Center's campus. This unique 48-inpatient bed tower provides attractive, spacious patient rooms that can accommodate the high-tech mobile medical equipment which is the norm in today's care delivery model. The new tower building also incorporates a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit and high-tech surgical suites.

The first floor serves patients for imaging and laboratory services - including the Wilma Redmond Breast Center. The Emergency Department is also located on the first floor. These services are conveniently accessed through the building's Main Entrance. The second floor houses the new surgical services while the third and fourth floors showcase the Medical Surgical Unit and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) patient rooms.
