Presented by the Boone Area Chamber Foundation and Blue Ridge Conservancy
Anyone can leave a legacy to a cause they love. The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Blue Ridge Conservancy invite you to a free introduction to planned giving with Boone attorney Jim Deal and CPA Jonathan Allen.
Whether you are just starting to think about your estate plan or updating one you already have, this session is for you. Lunch is provided!
THE PROGRAM WILL COVER:
- How planned giving works and why it matters to the causes you care about
- The most common ways to give, including bequests in a will or trust, beneficiary designations on retirement accounts and life insurance, and gifts of real estate or appreciated assets.
- Potential benefits to you and your family, including tax considerations and options that can provide income during your lifetime.
- Simple first steps, such as what to ask your attorney or financial advisor and how to let a nonprofit know about your plans.
This is an educational session; questions are encouraged. There is no solicitation or obligation.
