Early October on Boone's Back Porch is about as good as it gets! The High Country YoPros head to Mill Camp Wines & Ciders, a family-owned winery and cidery, where the porch looks out over the vineyard and mountains just as the leaves turn, with a stone fireplace inside as the evening cools off.
The timing is worth celebrating, as Mill Camp just brought home 13 awards from the 2026 N.C. Wine Competition, including a share the state's top cider honor! Small-batch wines and ciders will be pouring, with local food on site, and Beverage & Experience Manager and Sommelier, Taylor Zinda, a fellow High Country Young Professional, will be on hand to talk through the lineup.
A New Wine & Cider Tasting Room in Boone NC—serving our own handcrafted wines & ciders. Mill Camp is a local, family-owned winery and cidery located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.

The High Country Young Professionals, affectionately dubbed “the High Country YoPros”, is a dedicated group of 400+ young adults under the age of 40 serving in various industries across the High Country. Born out of the desire to provide a supportive community for young working people, the goal of the group is first and foremost to connect like-minded individuals. Sponsored annually by Granite Insurance.
