Member News: Mast Store & Columbia Team Up For November Coat Collection Drive
Press Release submitted by Mast General Store.
You don’t have to be a fan of Game of Thrones to know that winter is coming. It’s in the air, fogging up the window panes and biting at noses and hands. And that means coats and warm accessories are needed in the community. Mast Store is ready to Share the Warmth in all its communities with its 14th annual coat collection drive November 1-30.
Our partner Columbia Sportswear shares in this important drive with their tenth year of donations of new coats and jackets to be distributed among Mast Stores. And we need your help too. Each store will have a collection box where we will accept donations of clean, gently used items such as fleeces, coats, jackets, and other appropriate outerwear—gloves, hats, scarves, blankets, etc.—to be shared among our community partners. In most of our communities, there is a greater need for children’s coats and coats in sizes XXL and larger.
This year’s donations are being shared with several partnering organizations that are devoted to doing good in our communities. Original Mast Store and Annex in Valle Crucis and the Mast Store in Boone will see the new outerwear from Columbia go to needy students in the Watauga County School System. Donations will go to the Hospitality House which helps rebuild lives with their programs and services for the homeless.
