Nathaniel Johnson

Nathaniel is currently a Business Risk Consultant with Granite Insurance. He interned for the agency in 2018 and then joined the team full-time after he graduated from Appalachian State University. He began his journey in insurance by developing procedures for the Risk Placement Specialist position, a role that was new to the agency. He worked as the Risk Placement Specialist for two years before he transitioned to his current role in July of 2021. Nathaniel holds a BSBA from Appalachian State University where he double majored in Risk Management and Insurance and Finance and Banking. He also holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation along with his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) and Certified Workers Compensation Advisor (CWCA) designations.

He currently sits on the North Carolina Christmas Tree Association Board of Directors, is a member of the Membership Committee for the Boone Chamber, and is a part of the Organizing Committee for the High Country Young Professionals. Nathaniel has a deep love and appreciation for the High Country community. Growing up and living in this area his whole life has created a passion for wanting to lead, develop, and help others in the area.
