Public Lands: Strategies from Conservation to Access

D. Reid Wilson, Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, will present on strategies surrounding land conservation and making public lands available to people in a responsible and collaborative manner. 

D. Reid Wilson brings a wealth of experience in land conservation, environmental protection, and government and nonprofit leadership to the department. Access Secretary Wilson's professional bio here.

The panel discussion further examines the opportunities in the lands that make Northwest North Carolina so unique. We'll also explore ways that local NGOs and governments have strategized ways to increase access and features to public lands, without disturbing the elements that make these spaces so attractive to recreational enthusiasts.
