Organization Overview
Advocate. Educate. Support. Inspire.
Watauga Arts Council has been operating for more than 40 years. We help to support and facilitate arts initiatives within the High Country.
We are the designated county partner for the NC Arts Council. We distribute federal and state funds allocated for arts in Watauga County. We fund individual arts grants as well as nonprofit arts programming.
We work with community leaders to ensure arts are included in comprehensive planning.
We support arts education in our community, and we offer art classes, workshops, community groups, and arts nonprofit board meetings in our office.
We provide resources and create opportunities for artists to exhibit and sell their work.
We work diligently to make sure the Arts are accessible for ALL.

The Watauga Arts Council (WAC) fosters a thriving, diverse, and vibrant creative community through arts advocacy, education, support, and inspiration.
Serving professional and emerging artists, WAC facilitates and provides a structure for arts initiatives that enrich the lives of artists, residents, and visitors alike.
