Professional Bio
Appalachian Roller Derby (ARD) is a skater-owned an operated 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, operating as a roller derby league out of Boone, NC. The members of ARD are strong, motivated women who train hard, respect their teammates and love the sport of roller derby. The team strives to create a full-contact sport that inspires girls and women and appeals to all of their fans. ARD works to be fully sponsored and financially sound to create their own practice/bout space and fully funded travel, uniforms, insurance and equipment for all ARD skaters. ARD does not endeavor to be a for-profit organization, and hence will work to give any net profits back to the community via donations to charities and non-profit organizations alike.
